image: a local hunter and a feral pigHunters are a valuable asset in protecting Hawai`i's watersheds and ecosystems; critical habitat for our native species.

Hawai`i's hunters also participate in all areas of wildlife preservation. They donate funds, labor, and materials for conservation projects. Some examples are tree planting, water development, predator control, and assisting with biological surveys.

In Hawai`i, license fees and taxes paid on sporting equipment provide over a million dollars a year to support the State's wildlife programs and help us manage wildlife enjoyed by the public.

Hunters support our wildlife for future generations.
